Wonder what you can do?

As a citizen:

Have you ever given heed to the condition of children selling books at traffic lights, begging at temples and tourist attractions, cleaning the floor of train coaches or picking rag? You must have encountered with such children many a times in your life. These children are one of the most deprived sections of our society as they suffer from extreme forms of deprivation, destitution and victimization. As a citizen, you can do a number of things to alleviate their sufferings. Most importantly, developing awareness about their life and the issues they live with day in day out and sharing the same with others. This will help a lot in sensitizing people around you – neighbors, friends, family members – and all those whose actions and initiatives might have an impact on the life of these children. You can even connect the needy children with the NGOs and government-managed institutions working for their welfare. A very small act of love and concern from our side can change their life forever. Always treat them with love, respect and dignity. If you want to do more and become part of a systematic effort, you can always do better by volunteering at Nanhi Muskan. From field work to the work relating to planning and strategy development, opportunities for you at Nanhi Muskan are numerous.

As an NGO or Individual:

Nanhi Muskan is always open to collaborate with people and organizations working with children in difficult circumstances. We gladly share our materials, publications, policies, etc. for the benefit of others. You can always contact Nanhi Muskan for that. This is in essence, an effort in the direction of learning from one another.
